SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER | FULL TIME

JOB SUMMARY

Freudenberger Design is a boutique interior design firm specializing in high-end private residential and hospitality projects in California and across the country. This position is in-person at our office in West Hollywood. We are looking for someone to join our small team and to lead all aspects of assigned projects from initial concept to installation. This position requires direct interaction with clients therefore we require excellent communication skills, CAD and presentation skills, knowledge in the field and at site-visits along with exceptionally strong organizational skills that follow our office standards. 

Supervisor: Principal and Lead Designer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage day-to-day operations for assigned projects

  • Assist Principal and work with additional senior designer on design concept and presentation boards

  • Create and/or redline floor, furniture, millwork and detail drawings in AutoCAD

  • Help with designing furniture including the overseeing of production and delivery. 

  • Prepare and maintain detailed project estimated and actual budgets 

  • Prepare and maintain detailed project timeline and delivery schedules 

  • Place orders and track items

  • Manage vendors and sub-contractors

  • Source furniture, fabrics, wallcoverings, materials, hardware, tile, plumbing and appliances and paint

  • Effective in delegating tasks to junior designers in the office 


REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience 

  • Knowledge of Adobe programs, such as Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc. 

  • Excellent in AutoCAD 

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Thrive in a fast-paced and small-team environment

  • Self-driven 

  • Must live in or around the Los Angeles area to be at the office daily

  • Must have a car and an active driver’s license

  • Willing to travel across the country for project site meetings and installations

  • Be design obsessed and passionate about the field of interior design

DESIGN ASSISTANT

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with client presentations (develop plans, renderings and digital collages)

  • Request quotes,invoices and manage payments with vendors  

  • Assist design team with purchasing orders, tracking shipments and coordinating deliveries

  • Coordinate with vendors, millworkers, and tradespeople to ensure deadlines are met

  • Source fabric and finish samples, shop for accessories, etc. 

  • Run errands to project sites, fedex/UPS, showrooms, vendors, etc. 

  • Source furniture and finishes (both in person and online while maintaining project aesthetic, budgets and schedules) 

  • Displaying quality & timely customer service with long-term clients

  • Organization, organization, organization

  • Days will always be different - some days you'll only be at the office, running errands, or combination of both  


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in interior design program or a graduate

  • Own a car + a personal laptop 

  • Skilled in Photoshop, Illustrator, AutoCAD, and Google Workspace (Sketchp a plus)

  • Highly organized, with attention to detail, and strong ability to multi-task between various projects

  • Excellent verbal/communication skills, high comfortability interacting with vendors, tradespeople, and clients

  • Enthusiastic, motivated and positive
